Very Clean Condo!

We have stayed at this updated condo that was very clean a few times and always enjoyed our stay. This condo has incredible lanai views to watch the sunsets as well as the peaceful ocean (we have even seen the whales from the dining table).
It is very nice to start our day by taking a short walk to the local Coffee House in the Shops at Wailea. The kitchen is easy to cook in as it is well appointed (and also has the great views)or you can try one of the many great restaurants so close to the condo.
There are two pools in the complex and one is very close.
This condo is a perfect place to stay at and relax. We highly recommend this condo.

We have been to Maui several times, but this was the first time in October. We found out that October is a wonderful time to come to Maui! We plan on coming back many more times, and we hope to stay here each time. The sunsets are fabulous, and the ocean views are spectacular. The amenities were the best, and we had all the comforts of home. The condo was perfect, and it was a pleasure working with Rich & Gayla (the owners). You knew it was important to them that we enjoyed our stay. We own a resort in Downieville, CA so we know a jewel when we see one, and this is one! NO KA OI

I have so many wonderful comments regarding my stay, I don’t know where to begin! The condo and its location are top notch. The condo has been beautifully remodeled and is more than functional. Our trip included 6 family members and we were all so comfortable. Our views from inside the condo and from the lanai were amazing. It looked like something out of picture/photo book. Wailea is a terrific location. Every excursion that we wanted to experience was at our fingertips. From exploring many different beaches, attending a Luau, surfing & boogie boarding, scuba diving & snorkeling to visiting the aquarium. With the Maui Revealed book located in the condo we were able to find everything we wanted to see. This vacation was one of my all time favorites. I would recommend this condo and location to anyone. My family can’t wait to go back!

Gayla and Rich certainly have a gem of a home at Ekolu. We were welcomed by a fruit basket for our 40th wedding anniversary and immediately fell in love with their home and their evident hospitality. They had thought of everything, even basic spices in the kitchen and cooking oil. The view from the lanai (and windows) is a wide angle view of the islands and ocean over the trees. It was especially fun to watch the clouds and the purple-pink light cast on Molokini every morning at dawn, and then to photograph the sunset in the evening from the lanai!! The general area is quiet, and you can walk to the Shops at Wailea and even the beach. The snorkeling in this general area is fantastic and if you are persistent you will see many turtles as well, at the outward edges of the reefs. The owners even had a fish identification guide, video movies and novels available. The condo has easy access to parking and an overall feeling of privacy. We are going back next summer because we know we will feel like we are coming home again… Mahalo Gayla! You are the best!

We have stayed at the condo two times the last 5 years. We had a wonderful time during each of our visits. Really enjoyed eating on the balcony overlooking the ocean. The sunsets and sunrises each day are awesome! Have already recommended this condo to our friends and family. The location is great for anything you want to do while in Maui. Great Maui Condo

From the moment we walked in and saw the Hansgrohe kitchen faucet (we have the same one in our kitchen), we felt completely at home. We very much appreciated the quality of everything in the condo, but most especially the kitchen equipment. Having just come from a condo on Kauai where the kitchen appeared to have been outfitted with garage sale items, we were delighted to find your kitchen so well appointed. Pride of ownership is evident throughout the condo.
The view is, of course, what drew me to your condo in the first place, and we were not disappointed; your photos are very accurate. We made sure we were “home” on the lanai every afternoon to enjoy the sunset and breeze.
We found everything we needed for our daily trips to the beach as well as our day trip to Hana. We had taken one of the coolers for our lunch in Hana by the Bay and returned with it full of fresh, cheap produce from their farmer’s market.
Thanks for helping make our time on Maui such a pleasure. We look forward to returning to your condo in the future.

Wonderful condo, great location

The condo was lovely, just as good as it looks in the photos. Our family of four was very comfortable, with plenty of room to spread out and relax. The kitchen was very well-equipped, and we ate in about half of the time we were there. (I really appreciated that there was a good supply of basics like oil, vinegar and spices so we didn’t have to go out and buy them). The excellent DVD library and huge TV provided a welcome rest from the day’s activities. Lovely views from the lanai. The AC worked well in the bedrooms (there was an AC unit in the living room, but we just used the fans, and it was very comfortable.) It was very quiet and peaceful, easy to sleep at night. Our two teenage girls loved having their own ‘suite’. The location is terrific, just a couple of minutes from The Shops at Wailea and several lovely beaches. We did a kayak and snorkel tour out of Makena Landing, just a ten minute drive away, and a snorkel/snuba boat trip from Maalaea, which is about 20 minutes away. Plenty of good restaurants, a Foodland and a Safeway all in easy driving distance. I think the best thing about this condo is that it felt like home. It was hard to leave it on our last morning, and we hope to return again. Thanks to Gayla and Richard for providing such a lovely place to enjoy our vacation.

It’s difficult to know where to begin when listing all of the wonderful things associated with our vacation stay in this Condo. We knew we were lucky to be staying here the minute we walked through the doors. It’s beautiful inside with all the amenities you could think of including a pineapple slicer. Looking at the ocean view and sunsets from the deck was amazing! Within walking distance is a beautiful beach, several resort hotels and a long walking path along the ocean. We would recommend Rich and Gayela‘s Condo to anyone of our friends. Thank you Rich and Gayela for a fantastic week.

Words can not begin to describe how wonderful this condo is or how much we enjoyed our stay. South Maui really is paradise

This unit far exceeded our expectations even after reviewing the list for amenities and looking at the pictures. The unit is well equipped, and we found it to be in immaculate condition and cleanliness. The book signed by previous guests gave us additional ideas of places to go and things they tried and liked on the island. The owners pride in the unit is obvious once you have stayed there. We found the location on the island to be convenient to many activities such as surfing, snorkeling, swimming, dining and sitting back and relaxing. We certainly recommend this property and hoping to return sometime in the future.

Awesome Condo!

This lovely condo was the perfect spot for our 9-day Maui vacation. We were 2 couples, so the 2-bedrooms/2-baths worked well for us. The living room, dining room, kitchen and balcony/deck areas are very spacious with great views of the ocean and sunsets. We could even see whales jumping off shore! The kitchen is new and very pretty. We cooked breakfasts and dinners at the condo. We really appreciated the high quality of the cookware, dishes, serving utensils, and appliances. The outdoor electric grill on the deck was especially easy to use and clean. My husband and I have been to the Wailea area of Maui several times and felt that this condo was in the perfect location. Easy access to the shoreline as well as the road to the grocery store in Kihei and beyond to Lahaina. Our friends had not explored Maui before, so we took a lot of outings. We walked by the hotels, shopped at the Shops at Wailea, swam at Makena Beach, drove to Kaanapali and Kapalua, took the ferry to Lanai for golfing one day, and visited Paia, Makawao, and Haleakala, the volcano. We had great meals at the Hali’iMaile General Store, Joe’s restaurant at the tennis complex across the street, the Kula Lodge (great pizza) and the Fishmarket restaurant in Paia (best fish sandwich ever!). Every day we were so happy to arrive, fairly exhausted, at ‘our’ condo, always just before sunset. We quickly made Hawaiian drinks of some kind and sat on the deck to enjoy the sunset. We were never disappointed by the display. We cooked fresh fish and enjoyed our wine and relaxation for the evening in the comfortable, homey living room. The owners are very thoughtful about all the amenities at the condo. It is especially nice to have the Wi-Fi as well as a printer. The beach toys were a pleasant surprise. Very nice snorkels and fins and beach chairs. TV’s in all rooms worked well and the beds were comfortable with pretty bedding. We would definitely recommend the Phillips’ condo for your next vacation in Maui!
